artifacts.
Educational Programs
The cost for a presentation is $45.00
an hour, accommodating up to 30 students. We also offer two hour tours
and presentations for larger groups, where the group will be divided. One
group will tour the exhibits while the other visits the Science Center
with a teacher-led program.
StarLab
The portable StarLab Planetarium is available for
programs again this year.
The StarLab shows vivid demonstrations of the night sky. The rotating projector shows the paths of the
planets, moon, and stars the skies as the night goes on and seasons change.
There are nine StarLab shows to choose from, depending on grade level. They
include plate tectonics, human cells, waves, constellations, earth globe
and deep space.
The StarLab needs a room 11 feet in
height, 30 feet in length, and 30 feet in width. Large rooms such as
multi-purpose rooms, cafeterias, and unused rooms are best. StarLab has the
capacity to hold 25 students.
The StarLab takes 30 minutes to set up
and take down. Because of this, we ask that teachers book the StarLab for
at least a three hour visit. The cost for three hours is $120.00, four
hours is $160.00, and five hours is $200.00. Please call the Science Center for more information or to
book your StarLab visit.
Milliken Visiting Scientists

world," suitable for grades 6-9.
