Since 1993, The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg has served Spartanburg County by providing leadership for the arts, sciences and historic preservation. Over the years, there have been many changes in how this has been accomplished, but the goal has always remained the same: to make the arts accessible to as many people as possible.

The Arts Partnership provides operating support for nine organizations and has programs in virtually every Spartanburg County school reaching some 44,000 students and teachers each year.

The Arts Partnership offers quarterly grants of up to $2,500 to nonprofit organizations and units of government for support of arts projects and up to $1,000 to individual artists for professional development. Funded projects have included community festivals, public concerts, public art installations, publications, workshops, seminars, music CDs, and marketing materials. Quarterly grant deadlines are the first working day of the months of July, October, January, and April.
